Custom scripture introduction and final slides as part of scripture template

May 30, 2023
In liturgical churches, it is common to have a standard call and response at the start of the reading of scripture and at the conclusion. It would be nice to have, as part of the scripture template feature, the ability to:
1. Specify a slide as the introduction slide to be placed before the start of the scripture
2. Specify a slide as the conclusion slide to be placed after the scripture.

The introduction text will often reference the scripture for example "A reading from the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 4"
Thus, for the most productive use, the slide text should support placeholders, that are automatically filled in my Presenter with the relevant information. Place holders would include:
a. Book of the bible
b. Starting chapter
c. starting verse
d. ending chapter
e. ending verse

Placeholders might look like %book%, %start_chapter%, %end_chapter%, %start_verse%, and %end_verse%.

While not a part of this request, the support for placeholders in slide text could be expanded in the future to support things like date fields, and support for custom song title slides.

Yes please!!

We'd also love this. Currently, we have do manually create intro/outro slides for every reading during mass.
