Improved Font Handling Features

June 1, 2023
We are struggling with managing fonts for slides. We want to be able to change the font for multiple (or all) slides at once. Here are several features that would help:

1. Proper slide template support which works like templates do for Songs/Scriptures. This would allow each slide to reference a template and bulk change could be done by editing the template.
2. Text style support. Provide text styles for different textual elements, and each style can be edited. For example a "Slide Title" style, "Slide Paragraph" style, etc.
3. The bulk cue edit feature should support bulk change of: a) Templates and b) Fonts. If feature #2 is supported, then bulk edit of those styles would also work.

I'd imagine the quickest way forward from an implementation standpoint, would be to support #1 and #3a above as #2's text style feature is a whole new concept for the tool.

In addition, we'd like to see better direct support for font management:
1. Approved font list. Provide a way to limit the fonts listed in the tool to help teams avoid use of fonts that won't be available on the presentation system. (Note: we chose WorshipTools because it is cloud-first and would allow us to edit presentations from any computer. However, tracking fonts between systems is not practical.)
2. Fonts built directly into the tool. In the font selector, one could then have an indication if it is a font included in the tool or if it is a system font. One source of free fonts is Google. They have released a whole bunch of fonts free to use for commercial purposes: https://developers.google.com/fonts/
