Test Email to check Formatting

August 19, 2025
The text box formatting is inaccurate, for example, it does large returns for soft returns etc. Therefore, it is very difficult to format a 'good looking' email. Can we please have an option to send a test email so that we can see what it looks like before sending the email out into the world?

You can send a test email by designating the sender and receiver as yourself to view what the email looks like.

From the "People" page in Community, click on the checkbox to the left of the name of the person, or people, you want to send an email to. You can select a single person, or you can select as many people as you need for this particular message.

Once you select your recipient(s), click "Bulk" towards the top of the page. There, you'll see an option for Email. This will take you to the New Communications page, where you can create and send your email to the recipient(s) you selected on the previous page.

Unfortunately, this means I am unable to use the template we set up for grouping the contacts who need to receive the email.

For example, I would like to send out a weekly communication to our church family. However, not everyone in our database receives this email, so to create a distribution group we were advised to set up a template with their names included (if there is a better solution, I’d be glad to know).

The challenge is that when I draft an email and send it only to myself, I can’t change to the template including all recipients without losing what I have just written and formatted. While I can copy and paste and hope for the best, it would be much more helpful if either:
1. The communications display reflected the actual layout to be sent, or
2. There was an option to send a test email.

Thank you for your help!
