Hey all, we sometimes do spoken elements that I'm putting together when planning (call to worship, etc.).
When I'm writing those elements, I like to review things like formatting, line breaks, etc. to understand how it will be displayed.
While I know I can go into Presenter and create slides, it's a lot easier to do it right in the planning tool.
The only solution I can find is to create a "song" with the spoken words and format it as I want.
Am I missing someting? Is there a better way to do this?
If it's a feature request here's how I'd describe it
As a user, I would like to have a separate library for spoken elements, that works the same as the 'Songs' feature, where I can create, format, store, and re-use elements easily from the Planning tool that shows up just like Songs do in Presenter.

To edit the song formatting in presenter, you would need to modify an existing template. You can modify an existing template, select it from the list, make your changes, and Save. To make a new template, click Create New, give the template a name in the text box above the Formatting tab, customize the template with the various formatting options, and Save.

That doesn’t quite get what I was looking for. Mostly what I think I’d like to see is more options for different parts of the service not just music. This is a challenge both for worship tools and the other online planning services I’ve used, and that they don’t take into account different liturgical elements.
What I’ve ended up doing is instructing everybody to create new songs and just tagging them at the beginning with [spoken element] - and for every slide they want things on, they just add a verse. That way they can play with line breaks and what’s on each slide as needed. At that point we can also continue to reuse them in the future which is helpful.
I think this is more of a feature request. Ideally, if they just duplicated the song module for spoken elements that would probably do the trick then you could also start sharing more of those spoken elements out with various people such as a culture worship or something else you want people to be able to see and read.

We don't use liturgy often enough, so on the rare occasions, we put the text on PowerPoint or equivalent.
However if I understand you correctly, you are asking for some form of markdown in the text, WITHIN THE TEXT LYRICS OF A SONG (a.k.a spoken element) so that when this "song" is placed in the service, Presenter will automatically accept/include the formatting in the specified "lyrics" and project the formatting correctly.
a bit like HTML or other tags, to be able to add line breaks, italicise, bold, etc. e.g.
<i>He Is Risen</i>
<b>He Is Risen Indeed</b>
I think this is a good idea; occasionally one might wish to highlight specific text in the lyrics of a song. However I suspect implementation will be tricky. Anyway you have my vote.
