Chord Pro transpose directive implementation?

November 20, 2022
Hi folks,
Is there an implementation of the Chord Pro "transpose" function? I've tried using it in Planning but it's not doing anything (chords don't transpose as they should). It seems to me that we should be able to define a key change mid song. Planning Center Online has this function and it is part of the Chord Pro specification. Is there a reason why it doesn't work in Planning/Music Stand? It seems to me like if it's in the ChordPro package then it shouldn't be too hard to add to the current Planning app?

You can use the {keychange: _} directive.

@WorshipTools,
The key change directive will, however, not automatically transpose everything that follows. One must still manually update their song to the new key. At least that's what happened to me when I tried it. At any rate, the info says, "indicates key change in middle of song."

Correct - it does not auto-generate new chords in that key for you. You'll have to enter the transposed chords into the ChordPro if you have a key change in the middle of the song. Later, when your musicians are viewing the chart and they transpose the whole song, both sections will transpose to the respective keys.
