Global and specific permission level Presenter App

We have a notebook for our youth group, they're using an account especially for this notebook. In the presenter app they should just be allowed to edit the events for the youth group. So I set the global permission level to viewer and the level for the youth events to editor, but the presenter app doesn't allow changes with global permissions set to viewer. Is there a workaround or am I missing something?
