Sending Messages in Planning

Whether you're using the web version or the mobile app, Planning by WorshipTools makes it super easy to communicate with your staff and volunteers without ever leaving the app.

To get started, just click the Messages button from the left (web app) or tap the speech bubble icon at the bottom (mobile app). Click "New Message," search and select who you'd like to message, and start typing!

Those who have the mobile app installed will receive push notifications when they are sent a message. The message will also be sent out as an email, so this is a great way to keep in touch with your teams.

To turn notifications off, users can go to their Planning settings and uncheck the "Email" and/or "Mobile" boxes for "Someone sends me a message."

*Anyone can receive and reply to Messages threads but only Schedulers or higher can start Messages threads to groups of people and only Admins can message "Everyone." Viewers can start Messages threads to other individuals but not to groups.

Message Users by Service

Schedulers, Editors, Admins and Org Admins are able to send messages from the Services page. This is a quick way to communicate with those who are invited to serve on a particular service.

To send messages by service, navigate to the People tab of the service and find the "Message" button in the upper left corner. Users who have declined participation in that service will not receive messages sent from here.

Message Users by Role Groups

Schedulers, Editors, Admins and Org Admins may also send messages by Role Groups. For example, you can send a message to everyone in the "Worship Team," regardless of Service dates. You can do this right on the Messages page, or, if you are an Editor, Admin, or Org Admin, you can also do this on the People page. Find the "Message" option next to the "Add Person" button.
